Solo Exhibition at Vine Bar
I’m so proud of the show up at Vine Bar right now.
This collection features watercolor works inspired by my time in Tuscany, alongside mixed media, oil, and acrylic pieces that explore themes of place, memory, and emotional landscapes.
Several small watercolor paintings were created during my time in Tuscany. These studies were the foundation for a recent collaboration with Craig and Justina of Vine Bar, who invited me to design labels for their private-label wines. Inspired by my abstract watercolors, the partnership has led to a series of designs. Golden Hill, one of the paintings on view, is featured on Vine Bar’s upcoming release of Colline d’Oro, a bold, age-worthy, super-Tuscan wine arriving this fall.
Also included in the exhibition are two works created during my artist residency in Madrid: Nexus (Madrid) and Toledo Rising. These pieces reflect my research into geometric forms and spiritual motifs rooted in the Al-Andalus period.
All of the work in the exhibition was created within the past three years, with the exception of three paintings on the back wall, which date to around the year 2000.
My process is intuitive and deeply rooted in place. That’s part of why this show feels so aligned with Vine Bar’s philosophy. Just as my work explores emotional and spiritual connections to landscape, Vine Bar curates wines that highlight the relationship between land, tradition, and artisan. Craig and Justina are deeply connected to the winemakers they represent, people who care about soil health, sustainability, and native varietals. There’s a shared ethos in our work: a respect for craft, community, and things made with heart.
I hope you find time to stop by!
