The Artist’s Way Workshop Series

This year’s group is much more than a book club circle. It’s a transformational experience.

Reading The Artist’s Way gives us the foundation and scaffolding for discussion, but the real work comes from the making, writing, moving, and the space we create for energetic connection, because to live a truly creative life, we must inhabit much more than our cerebral minds.

In the years I’ve been guiding people through The Artist’s Way, I’ve noticed the same pattern: people do the reading, but they often skip the exercises, yet that’s where the transformation really has traction. This experience gives you the structure and support to actually do the work.

How Our Sessions Flow

Our time together is divided into two kinds of sessions: Discussion Sessions and Activity Sessions.

Every other week starting January 27, we meet for an hour to talk through the reading and explore what stood out, what challenged you, what surprised you, and what the exercises are starting to reveal.

On the alternate weeks, we gather for two hours of creative and somatic activities. These sessions are where the material really lands. We make art, move our bodies, and process everything that’s rising to the surface.

The Activities

Art Making

The art-making piece includes vision boards, creating your own manifestation/prayer cards, and integrating visual art into your morning pages practice.

Vision boards help you articulate what’s ahead.

Morning Pages (with images added) help you listen more closely to yourself.

Manifestation/Prayer cards become actionable tools for resilience, clarity, and alignment.

Handmade Manifestation/Prayer Cards

I began making these cards for myself years ago, and I’ve watched them support both my own creative path and the journeys of many coaching clients. By the end of our time together, you’ll have a personal deck you can turn to daily, choosing the card that meets you where you are.

Somatic Processing

Our Activity Sessions also include somatic processing, practices that help the work move from your mind into your body. On certain evenings we’ll engage with movement, sound, clay, energy work, body-scale drawing, or early spring forest bathing. These experiences help you absorb, integrate, and release what the book and exercises are stirring in you.

Why This Structure Works

The Artist’s Way Experience is designed to help you:

connect through discussion

work through the exercises that call you

and then process the deeper layers somatically

We meet every week, one week for discussion, the next for two hours of embodied creativity and exploration. The rhythm gives you space and support, momentum and integration and I bring a grounded, calm presence shaped by years of artmaking, facilitation, and coaching. My role is to help you reconnect with your creative spark, integrate the work, and move toward a more aligned and expressive version of yourself.

This will no doubt be an extraordinary experience and maybe just the one you’ve been needing.
