Greeting Cards!

Hey! This is me at Vine Bar, so excited to see them front and center in the shop.

What makes a gift of art meaningful?

Here’s a little secret about art: it’s not really about how it looks. Sure, the colors and shapes matter. But when a piece of art stops you in your tracks, something else is going on. It strikes you. It makes you feel more alive, maybe even part of something bigger. Every piece of art carries an energy that can’t quite be explained or comprehended. It’s felt.

So when you give art, you’re passing along that energetic impact. (You’re also supporting an artist, which is good for all of us. Society thanks you.)

Now, it can be hard to know how any piece will land with someone else, even someone you’ve known for a lifetime. We each bring our own perspective, made of our unique place in the world, the experiences we’ve had, even our genes. But here’s the beautiful part. When you send a card, you’re devoting time and care to someone who means something to you. That’s love in action.

When it’s sent with gratitude and a bit of love, the person on the other end is going to be touched. Whatever they think of the painting, they’ll feel cared about. And because they appreciate you, that gratitude (which is really just another name for love) spills right over onto the image in their hands. Now they have a small piece of art, 5x7, ready to pop in a frame if they so choose.

Which brings me to some news.
I made cards!

Three greeting cards made from reproductions of original watercolor paintings

Three of my original watercolors, Golden Hill, Climber, and Violet Landscape, are now greeting cards. They’re printed locally, with help from my buddy Kurtis at White Oak, as high-quality reproductions on a heavy, textured paper that looks and feels like the original painting.

Each one is blank inside, so the words are all yours. You can get them as singles for $6 or in packs of five for $28. Find them at Vine Bar in downtown Lancaster, and they’ll be in my online shop soon.
